Former Maine Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murdering Couple in California

A former Augusta man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a Maine couple in California. Robby Alan Beasley, 32, was convicted of murder in December and was sentenced Tuesday. Prosecutors say Beasley shot Frank Maddox, 32, and his wife, Yvette, 40, three years ago, leaving their bodies in a ditch. The couple were reportedly hired to grow pot in northern California. Beasley was their employer. The two bodies were found at the bottom of a 20-foot ditch and were spotted by someone who had stopped by the side of the road. Beasley’s alleged accomplice, Elijah Bae McKay, pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact and was released from jail.
