Voters in RSU 19 will, once, again consider a loan to help close the gap on a big budget shortfall. The school board is holding a public meeting Tuesday, Janaury 8th to go over the plan for a $2.9 million loan.In November, voters in the Newport area turned down an even bigger loan of $3.6 million 6.So the school district cut about $750,000, which impacted several staffing positions and programs, including sports and after school activities.Tuesday night, the school board will ask residents to put the second loan to a public vote next week. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Nokomis High School.
