Warden Service to Resume Recovery Efforts for Missing Snowmobilers

Updated 2 years ago

The Maine Warden Service is resuming recovery efforts for the bodies of three snowmobilers in Rangeley Lake. Officials say they plan to be on the lake Thursday morning in search of three men who are thought to have accidentally ridden into open water Sunday night. A 44-year-old Yarmouth woman, riding separately, was also killed Sunday when she plunged into the lake. Wardens have recovered gloves and helmets believed to belong to the missing men, and say there are snowmobile tracks that lead to an unfrozen area near the middle of the lake. Hundreds of family and friends attended a vigil for the men Wednesday night at the Oxford Plains Speedway. Glenn Henderson of Sabattus, Kenneth Henderson of China, and John Spencer of Litchfield are presumed dead.
