Pak Charged With Two Counts of Murder in Biddeford Shooting 

A 74-year-old man from Biddeford accused of killing two teenagers is being held without bail after his first court appearance today.James Pak is charged with two counts of murder. He did not enter a plea during his brief appearance before a judge in York County.The victims are Derrick Thompson, 19, and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Alivia Welch. They were shot to death Saturday night.Police say the shooting happened after an argument over late rent and parking.Thompson and Welch, along with Thompson’s mother and her 6-year-old son, rented an apartment from Pak attached to his home..A police affidavit says Pak walked into their apartment and told them he was going to shoot them before following through on his threat.The affidavit says Pak shot Thompson’s mother twice, but she survived by pretending to be dead.The 6-year-old was not hurt.
