Friday marked the official start to winter, which means the sun goes down pretty earlier this time of year, but one group in Bucksport wanted to bring some light to the dark winter nights. The Bucksport Chamber of Commerce held its first annual “Light Up The Night” at Perry’s Landing on Sunday.People of all ages were encouraged to come in and do some caroling.Hot cocoa, cookies, and games kept everyone in good spirits.Organizers said they envisioned the event like a scene right out of the movies. Executive Director of the Bucksport Chamber of Commerce, Leslie Wombacher said “I think this could be a lot of fun. If it grows, how much fun would that be? When I first talked about in inside the chamber, inside the office, I said ‘I want it to be a who-ville moment.'”Wombacher also said the donations they received will be distributed to local non-profit organizations.
