Five Arrested in Augusta and Belgrade Drug Bust

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has seized over $23,000 in drugs after an investigation in Augusta and Belgrade.Officials say 5 men have been arrested in the drug bust which included over 550 bags of heroin, 6 grams of bulk heroin, 37 grams of two different types of cocaine.Police arrested James Davis Belgrade, 19, and Harlem, NY, Terrel Washington, 23, of the Bronx, NY, John Wood, 31, of Augusta, Beverly Norton, 56, of Augusta, and Amber Swift, 27, of Belgrade. Davis, Washington and Norton charged with Aggravated Trafficking Heroin..along with other counts. Wood is charged with unlawful possession of heroin and other counts, while swift is charged with unlawful trafficking of heroin.MDEA, Augusta Police, Waterville Police, The Kennebec County Sheriffs Office, State Troopers and US DEA Agents were all involved in the case. Police said the investigation is far from over.
