St. Saviour’s Episcopal Parish in Bar Harbor is getting into the christmas spirit.Today they hosted a musical program in celebration of the Advent season. The performance featured organist Julia Morris-Myers alongside David Woolsey on the oboe.Morris-Myers has been a choirmaster for the parish since 2005. The recital has become a yearly tradition and a brief moment of respite from the hectic holiday season. “Enjoy some of the music of the season. It is a little quiet at times and more somber, to get away from their crazy to do list, its sort of my gift to them.”Morris-Myers will also present “a festival of Advent lessons and carols”, this Sunday, December 16th. It begins at 4:00 PM at St. Saviour’s Parish, and will feature anthems by modern British and American composers. There is no cost to get in but donations will benefit the Bar Harbor Food Pantry.
