Reported Robbery at Skowhegan’s Franklin Savings Bank

Police are investigating a robbery at the Franklin Savings Bank in Skowhegan. It was reported at 4:41 P.M. on Thursday night. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money.He threatened the bank teller, saying an accomplice was waiting in a car with a rifle.Officers say the suspect fled on foot.Police with a K9 unit searched a trail behind a nearby VIP Discount Auto Center on Madison Avenue.The suspect is described as a white male, about 60 years old.He was wearing dark pants with a black hooded sweatshirt. He was also wearing an orange hunting cap, with a black knit cap over it, as well as black gloves.Anyone with information is asked to contact Skowhegan police at 207-474-6908.
