Skowhegan police say they have located the owners of a dog that was found so badly neglected that it had be put down. Officer Josh King said an anonymous tip led to the people who owned the small black and white poodle that was found outside at a mobile home park Nov. 29. The dog was taken to a veterinarian who concluded the animal suffered from chronic neglect, flea infestation and paralysis. The animal couldn’t walk and was covered in its own waste. It was euthanized the same day it was found. King tells the Morning Sentinel, police interviewed the owners, who admitted the dog was theirs. No names were released pending the issue of a summons to appear on neglect charges.
