Bath Iron Works is getting a $70 million contract from the Navy. The money will keep workers there busy for at least another year. Senator Susan Collins say the contract will allow the shipyard to continue to modernize the Navy’s fleet of warships. Workers will also do maintenance on those ships. Collins says the new contract represents the Navy’s continuing commitment to the surface fleet.
