Two people were taken to the hospital – one by helicopter – after their cars crash head-on in Plymouth. Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies say 26-year old Jayson Whitehouse of New Hampshire was heading toward Newport on Route 7 just after 11 a.m. Friday. His car crossed the center line and slammed into an SUV. Whitehouse was taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with what we’re told life-threatening injuries. 38-year-old Courtney Lacadie of Dixmont, who has serious injuries, went by ambulance. Chief Deputy Troy Morton says, “It doesn’t appear to be road conditions as a factor. The road has been salted in this area but there’s no slippery conditions here. So we need to look at what caused this vehicle to cross over and it clearly crossed over the line.”Emergency crews from five towns responded to the crash, which remains under investigation. That section of road was shut down for a couple of hours.
