Christmas is for everyone, that’s the message the Manna Ministries is sending out to the community this holiday season.Manna has started it’s annual Christmas Celebration this week. For the past 18 years, they’ve been helping members of the community who can’t afford to put gifts under the tree. Organizers said if children, adults, and the elderly need something to get through the holiday season they want to help out. They are also asking people to come in and “adopt” a family who is in need to buy them gifts. The Executive Director, Bill Rae believes it’s harder than ever for people to afford toys, warm clothing, and other necessities. He said “It’s for those people who are at the bottom of this latter, this economic latter, this Christmas is extremely hard, so we’re able to give them a turkey at Thanksgiving time. Let’s see what we can do to help them at Christmas time this year.”If you need help this holiday season, or just want to donate to those in need you can stop by Manna Ministries in Bangor, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.All gifts should be dropped off by December 19th.
