Following a recent string of fires and crime in the Milford and Bradley areas, local officials decided to combine their efforts for a community safety night. The meeting was held at the Dr. Lewis S. Libby School in Milford. It was organized by the town’s managers.Local police and fire fighters came out to support the event.Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s department gave a presentation on crime prevention, becoming a better witness, and home security tips.”Municipal officials were asked quite frequently about crime in the area and community safety. We don’t always have the right answers for the questions they have, but we can direct them to the right officials so we wanted to provide a forum in which residents can come and ask these people directly the questions that they have,” said Milford Town manager Melissa Doane. Organizers say they would like to make these safety meetings a regular event but no future safety nights have been scheduled just yet.
