Husson Assistant Professor Comments on Cyber Monday

For those who despise the madness and mayhem of Black Friday, there’s Cyber Monday.It is typically the busiest online shopping day of the year.Retailers offer incentives like free shipping and web purchase discounts that often times match or even beat Black Friday deals.Americans are estimated to spend $1.5 billion dollars, an increase of up to 20% from 2011.And much like Black Friday this year, Cyber Monday actually started days before.”It speaks to the expanding role of the Internet,” says Paul Morrow, Assistant Professor of Business Law and Economics at Husson University. “And I just want to say that these purchases are not just domestic purchases. China, Britian, India, people who are familiar with products here in the United States buy products here from the United States.”Students at Husson University are developing software to help companies make their websites more customer-buying friendly. They’re also working on a program to start an online business franchise.
