A Washington County corrections officer who said he was attacked outside of the jail has been suspended. Washington County Sheriff Donnie Smith tells TV 5 that Sgt. Troy Lyons made the whole thing up. In October, Lyons said he was on routine patrol when someone hit him from behind. Lyons had a cut on his head and a bruised shoulder. Sheriff Smith says an investigation has proved that the injuries were self inflicted. Smith wants Lyons to be fired: that will be discussed at a commissioners meeting in December.
