No Charges Filed in Connection With Orrington Incident

Authorities were called to a neighborhood in Orrington Wednesday morning after a report of a man with a rifle looking in vehicle.The call came in around 5:30 a.m.State police say the suspect was apparently looking in cars with a flashlight. The caller told authorities he recognized the man and he was concerned because the suspect reportedly has a history of mental health issues as well as illegal drug use.State Police, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and Brewer police were on the scene for about two hours. They eventually determined the man was heading into the woods to go hunting and not a threat. No charges have been filed.Several viewers told us they heard shots being fired in that area during the time of the incident. State police say no firearms were discharged in connection with this incident.
