Maine’s highest court has upheld the manslaughter conviction of a Limestone man charged with killing his daughter. Niklas Jones pleaded guilty last year to killing his 3-month-old daughter in 2009. The state medical examiner said the baby died from blunt trauma to the head. Jones was sentenced to six years. He appealed the judgement, saying the court should have thrown out statements he made to officers during the investigation and the juvenile court should not have admitted hearsay evidence in his bind-over hearing. Jones was 17 when the crime happened. The Supreme Court disagreed with Jones and has affirmed the judgement.
