UMaine Women’s Basketball Falls To Syracuse In Home Opener

The UMaine women’s basketball team hosting Syracuse in its home opener tonight. A lot of fans coming out for the Black Bears, including members of the football team.The Black Bears jumping out to an early lead on the big east school! Mikaela Gustafsson misses a three, but Liz Wood comes up with the rebound, and then Gustafsson sneaks into the lane and lays it in. The Black Bears go up 7-5.But Syracuse showing off some of its talent, including Kayla Alexander, who lays one in right there. The Orange center had 19 points and 12 boards on the night.But some flashes of brilliance out of Maine in this one. Anna Heise tosses it behind the back, up and in. The Black Bears were down just four at halftime, but Syracuse would run away with it. Maine falls tonight, 68-44 the final.
