Governor Paul LePage and First Lady Ann LePage finished their food drive at the Blaine House in Augusta on Saturday.The Governor has been welcoming Mainer’s into the Blaine House for the past three weekends. He says the response for Maine residents has been overwhelming.The nonperishable food items collected will be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.LePage said this is just one way he wants to help during the holidays. “I guess I was there when I was young and I know that a lot of people need help. It’s just giving back. It’s more than just being your governor, it’s giving back my way.”The Governor says his favorite part of the food drive was being able to meet all the children in the state who wanted to help out. He said talking about the history of the Blaine House with the young students.
