Sewer District Board Trustee Abruptly Quits

Updated 2 years ago

A Veazie Sewer District board trustee quit at a meeting Thursday night. Gary Brown walked out of a closed-door executive session, telling us resigning was something he had been thinking about but didn’t plan on doing Thursday night. Superintendent Gary Brooks resigned in August, and interim Superintendent Travis Day, resigned recently to take a job in Orono. A bookkeeper also quit earlier this week. Thursday night, it was decided that the engineering firm, Woodard and Curran, will run the plant for no more than 90 days, while the two remaining trustees figure out what to do next. There’s a meeting set for Monday night, November 19th, at 6:30.
