Five Recounts Scheduled After Tuesday’s Election

So far, five candidates in Tuesday’s election are asking for the votes to be counted again. The Secretary of State’s office says a recount can be requested if the margin between the candidates is less than 1 percent of the total vote.In Senate District 17 the race is between Democrat Colleen Quint and Republican incumbent Garrett Mason. In House District 70, the candidates are Democrat R. Wayne Werts and Republican incumbent Bruce Bickford.In House District 80, it’s Democrat Rachel Sukeforth and Republican incumbent Melvin Newendyke.In House District 109 the candidates are Democratic incumbent Anne Graham and Republican Susan Austin.And in House District 144, the election’s between Republican Daniel Archambault and Democrat William Noon. Any candidate who wants a recount has until Wednesday at 5 o’clock to file a request.
