Massachusetts Man Pleads Guilty to Murdering Elderly Farmington Woman 

A Massachusetts man was sentenced to 50-years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the fatal stabbing of an 81-year-old Farmington woman. 27-year-old Juan Contreras changed his plea Thursday on the fourth day of his trial in Franklin County Superior Court in Farmington.Deputy Attorney General Bill Stokes says under a plea agreement, Contreras was sentenced to 50 years in prison and will be deported to his native Guatemala upon his release.Prosecutors said Contreras broke into Grace Burton’s Farmington apartment after midnight June 21, 2011, and stabbed her 35 times as she slept in a recliner.Police say Burton described her attacker to police shortly before she died.Contreras told police he had smoked marijuana laced with some drug and didn’t know what he was doing.He was living in Farmington at the time of the attack, but then moved to Massachusetts.
