Police arrested a Dedham man after a six-hour standoff Sunday morning. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman, Steve McCausland, says James Garland, 46, is charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence assault. Police were called to a house off of Green Lake Road around 2 o’clock Sunday morning. According to McCausland, a woman said she had been assaulted by Garland and he had fired a shot from a handgun. The woman left the home when police arrived. Garland reportedly barricaded himself inside the home, and six-hours later, surrendered to police. We’re told the woman did not need immediate medical assistance.
