Environmental Regulators Recommend Rejecting Wind Farm in Penobscot County
Maine environmental regulars recommend rejecting an application to build a 14-turbine wind farm in Penobscot County. Department of Environmental Protection staff said the proposed windmills on Passadumkeag Mountain would disrupt a ” one-of-a-kind view” from Saponac Pond. The recommendation now goes to the DEP commissioner. In July, more than 100 people were at a meeting in Greenbush about the project. A majority of the people at the meeting said they did not want the wind project to happen.
