Police: Sullivan Student Brings Pot Brownies to School, Mother Charged

A student at Mountain View School in Sullivan reportedly brought marijuana to school on Tuesday. State Police tell TV 5 a male student brought pot brownies to the school.Amanda Hiser, 32, is charged with Aggravated Furnishing of Scheduled Drugs and Illegal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. The brownies reportedly belonged to Hiser, who is the mother of the student. Superintendent of RSU 24, Suzanne Lukas, says a police canine searched the school and found no other drugs.State Police say it is “unclear” if other students ate the brownies, but Lukas tells us “several students” have been suspended. State Trooper Miles Carpenter is conducting the investigation, along with officials from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
