State Police: Lamoine Man Used Two Guns to Kill Father and Uncle

Updated 2 years ago

Two men killed in Lamoine Tuesday morning were shot several times. State Police say Leon Tilden, 27, used two guns to kill his father and uncle. Autopsies on Robert Tilden and Russell Pinkham, both 50, were completed Thursday and determined the men died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police say family members told them Leon Tilden seemed depressed recently, and had been shooting animals in the middle of the night. A member of the State Police Tactical Team shot and killed Leon Tilden late Tuesday morning after a 7-hour search for him. Investigators say they may never know why Leon Tilden killed his father and uncle. The Maine Attorney General’s Office is investigating the police use of deadly force in this case.
