Skiers Gear up for Winter 

Athletes who take part in snow sports are getting ready for winter and thanks to one local ski club, many skiers walked away with some affordable new gear.The Penobscot Valley Ski Club held it’s 38th annual Ski and Snowboard Equipment Sale on Saturday.There was new and used gear available including downhill skis, snowboards, and helmets. Despite a mild winter last year, the ski club is hoping for a snowy season.Penobscot Valley Ski Club Representative, Lauren Jacobs, said “Last winter was a little disappointing snow-wise. That’s always hard to remind people that snow will come, but it’s going to this year. I have a lot of faith. We’re pretty excited about this winter.This is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the sale will support the store’s programs and ski trips.
