Michigan Firefighter Selected to be Bangor Fire Chief

Bangor’s city manager has made her selection for a new fire chief. Catherine Conlow announced Thursday, Scott Lucas, of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, has been selected to be Bangor’s new Fire Chief. Lucas must be confirmed by Bangor City Council, and that is expected to happen at its regular meeting on October, 22nd. Lucas served for 21 years in a number of positions on the City of Westland, Michigan Fire Department. ” Scott possessed the broad knowledge, experience, and professionalism the City was looking for to lead the Department. He is well suited to build on the Department’s strengths and to move the Department forward. Those involved with the interview and selection process were impressed with his experience and accomplishments in the Westland Fire Department, particularly in the Emergency Medical Services area, which is a significant portion of the service provided by the Bangor Fire Department,” said City Manager, Catherine Conlow. ” I am pleased to have been selected and to be taking on the role of leading the Bangor Fire Department. The Department has a strong and rich tradition of providing residents with outstanding fire and emergency medical services. I am looking forward to working with the Department, City Manager, and City Council and building on the efforts of those before me. My family and I are excited about moving to Bangor and becoming part of the community,” said Scott Lucas. Lucas is scheduled to begin his position with the Bangor Fire Department on December 3rd. Former Chief Jeffery Cammack retired in February.
