Second Man Arrested in Bangor Pharmacy Robbery
A second man is in jail in connection with a pharmacy robbery in Bangor last week. Police arrested 24-year-old Kirk DePhilippo of Bangor Monday morning after a detective saw him near Hammond Street. They’ve been looking for him since the Rite Aid at Union and 14th Streets was hit last Monday. As officers were called to the area, they say DePhilippo walked behind a home on Dean Street where they quickly found him. Police say another man, 27-year-old John Harmon of Dover-Foxcroft walked into the store, demanded prescription pills, then ran off.Police believe DePhilippo was driving the getaway car. Harmon was arrested near the Bangor Efficiency Apartments on Hammond. Court documents say Harmon confessed during a police interview to robbing the pharmacy to settle a drug debt with DePhilippo. The judge set bail for him last week at $50,000, given his lengthy criminal record. Two other people were taken into custody last week, too, but have not been charged.
