A man from Rockland was flown to the hospital Monday afternoon after two vehicles crashed head on in Cushing. Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies say 19-year-old Eli Ranquist was heading north on River Road when he lost control and crossed the center line. His car slammed into a flatbed truck carrying a shed on the back. Emergency crews had to cut Ranquist free from the vehicle. We’re told he was airlifted to Central Maine Medical Center. The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Terrance Ryan of Warren, was not hurt. Deputies say it appears speed played a part in the crash, which remains under investigation.
