UMaine Hockey Loses Season Opener To Quinnipiac

The Black Bears coming into this season off an appearance in the NCAA tournament, but some new faces were in the lineup. One of them, Steven Swavely, scoring the first goal for Maine just four minutes in.But the Bobcats tie things up in the 2nd period. Maine could not light the lamp again. The Black Bears can’t capitalize on the power play. They were 0-for-5 on the man advantage.The goal that decided this one came with 1:26 left in the game. Jordan Samuels-Thomas scores off the faceoff to give Quinnipiac the lead and the game. The Bobcats beat the Black Bears, 2-1 the final.
