Local Law Enforcement Collecting Unwanted Medications for National Drug Take-Back Day 

Saturday was National Drug Take-Back Day.s=Several law enforcement agencies were out accepting any unused or expired prescriptions or drugs that needed to be disposed of.Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office was set up at Cascade Park.They were collecting any drugs people wanted to dispose of safely with no questions asked.They say it’s something they hope more people think of.”It’s really important to get the medications out of our home. We see that it’s a common way that people become addicted to medications or take medications that they should be a victim by just simply having excess medications in your home,” said Troy Morton, Penobscot County Chief Deputy.If you would like to take back any unwanted medications, the penobscot county sheriff’s office and bangor police department have drop-off boxes you can bring them to, no questions asked.
