Bangor city councilors have approved funding to move the Waterfront Concerts stage. Initial bids from companies to work on the project exceeded the city’s $650,000 budget. Gardner Construction Enterprises offered to do a scaled down version of the original plan for $2,000 less. Councilor Ben Sprague tells TV 5 that while moving the stage is a major part of the project, the proposal also includes improvements in lighting, pathways, benches, trees and more. Last week, the city’s finance committee voted in favor of using Gardner Construction Enterprises, the full council accepted the bid Monday night.
