Friendly Flag Football Game Gets Competitive at Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor

It’s National Assisted Living Week and care workers at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor got their game faces on.They teamed up against the 101st Air Guard Air Refueling Wing for a friendly game of flag football.Things got a bit competitive, but all in good fun.It was a way to let residents get out and interact with guard members, who volunteer at the vets home on a regular basis.”The whole thing that we shoot for in the Resident Care Unit is family. And, those guys are certainly part of our family now. I think our residents really enjoy getting to know them as people and it’s been a great day for us,” said janet Mitchell, RN and Resident Care Director.
