Gov. LePage Unhappy with CanaRx Ruling

The union representing Maine state workers says it looks forward to working with Gov. Paul LePage and other elected officials in an effort to restore a prescription drug mail service provided by a Canadian company. The Maine State Employees Association said Tuesday it hopes to work with the governor on legislation that would let CanaRx resume the delivery of affordable prescription medications to Mainers. Maine Attorney General William Schneider ruled last month that CanaRx cannot be licensed in Maine, even though it’s provided the mail service for years. The decision could affect 1,200 Maine households using the company’s services. The governor’s office has released a statement saying that while LePage respects the attorney general’s legal opinion, he’s unhappy with the outcome and intends to submit legislation to rectify the situation.
