Belfast to Move Ahead with RSU 20 Withdrawal Plan
Belfast is taking another step in withdrawing its schools from RSU 20. A withdrawal committee voted Monday to move forward with the plan to re-form School Administrative District 34. That was the system in place before the state reorganization effort.Committee Chairman Eric Sanders says besides Belfast, the town of Morrill has agreed to re-join SAD 34. He says officials in Belmont, Northport, Searsmont, Swanville would like to see the plan the Belfast committee creates before deciding to return. The plan has to be turned into the state Department of Education by October 23rd.
