107 isn’t a number you typically see on a birthday cake. But at Dexter Health Care, Lula Bunker celebrated her 107th birthday with her family and friends.Originally from Cambridge, Lula was married to her husband for 77. In her life she was a school teacher, secretary, and bookkeeper, and loved to travel and spend time outdoors with her family whenever she could.”They lived live to the fullest for many many years. It’s kind of sad to see Grammy slipping away now, but we have a lot of wonderful memories of time spent with them,” said her grandson, Dennis Folsom. The memories made span across five generations throughout the family.”It’s an amazing thing to see the generations like that and for them to be growing up and having a chance to know her, you know, not many kids get that opportunity,” said her great-granddaughter-in-law, Shelly Folsom.Born in 1905, she remembers the Titanic sinking, and the Red Sox winning their first World Series. Most importantly, it’s the time she has been able to give her family that means more than anything.”I think it’s just wonderful. I feel blessed that I could have my mother with me this long,” said her daughter Marita Farrar.
