Organizers Gearing Up for 2nd Annual Bangor Paint Day 

On Saturday, the city of Bangor is going to be painted by artists.The Bangor Art Society and the university of maine art museum are partnering for their 2nd Annual Paint Bangor Day.Anyone wanting to show their artistic ability is invited to register for free at the museum on Harlow street between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.Participants can paint any scene in the city to be entered in an auction at 3 p.m. in the museum courtyard.People of all ages and all skill levels are invited to take part.”We have children of age 5, we have people who are in their 90’s, last year we had some grandparents and grand children. We have high school students, one year we had a homeless man come by and just draw on a scrap of paper, so it doesn’t matter now sophisticated you are at art making, everyone is welcome,” said Ulrike Guthrie, President of the Bangor Art Society.Paintings need to be submitted by 3 p.m. on Saturday.The event will take place, rain or shine.
