Updated 2 years ago

It’s back to school shopping time, and the folks at Brewer Federal Credit Union are trying to make the cost more manageable for local families. For the last four years, staff at the credit union have collected donations of binders, notebooks and crayons to distribute to six local schools. “We did it when we started to see the economy get in really bad shape. People were having a tougher time just meeting their regular bills, so we thought this would be a good way to help some folks with their expenses that come up every September,” said David DeFroscia, the credit union’s Vice President.DeFroscia said donations will be accepted until Saturday at noon. If you’d like to help, you can drop off supplies at their locations on North Main Street and Dirigo Drive in Brewer. Cash donations are welcomed too.
