New Bangor Waterfront Walkway Takes Step Forward
A project to install a new walkway along the Bangor Waterfront is taking another step forward. A city finance committee approved a plan Monday night to spend $390,000 on the path, which would be paved and lighted. The quarter-mile trail will run from the new arena to the parking lot near the intersection of Railroad and Front streets. It can be used for walking, running, biking and roller blading. The city’s engineer says construction could begin as soon as next month and wrap up in November. The city council still needs to approve the bid for the project. That could happen as early as Monday, August 27th.
