Bangor Shop Raises Money for Local Animal Orphanage
Looking for one last book to read before summer vacation is over? You can buy one in Bangor for a good cause.Ingrid’s German Gift Shop held it’s first book sale today to benefit the Old Town Animal Orphanage. They say even though the humane society is a great place to donate, they feel the orphanage gets overlooked. Since the owner loves cats, she thought a book sale would be a good way to raise some money. Owner of Ingrid’s German Gift Shop, Ingrid Perkins said, “A lot of them came from my bookcases, also a lot of my friends donated some, and some customers too. The books are very gently used and some are even brand new.She also said people are buying books and saying they’ll come back with books of their own to donate. Perkins plans on doing this for up-coming Saturdays, along with the european farmers market they also run on weekends. If you want to donate, Perkins says to bring books or animal supplies to her store at 117 Buck Street in Bangor.
