A Holden Public Official Makes a Career Move

A long time Public Safety Director and Fire Chief is making a move.Jim Ellis will be taking a full-time job with the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office after 15 years of service in the Holden community. Ellis says his new job transition will allow him to focus on his family and other professional interests. He believes it will be a smooth transition, since the Holden department has a new budget in place. His last day in Holden will be August 17th, after that, he will start patrolling the streets in Milford. Residents in the town decided earlier this year they wanted another full-time deputy from the Sheriff’s Office. The Holden Fire Department says they have not found Ellis’ replacement.
