Rockland Police Say Recovery Looks Optimistic after Child Loses Hand in Freak Accident 

Rockland police are optimistic about the recovery of a 5-year-old boy who lost his hand in a freak accident.It happened Tuesday night.Police say the boy was riding in the back seat of a car and wrapped a jump rope around his wrist. The other end of the rope was dangling out the window.The rope was snagged by another car that was driving by and cut off the boy’s hand.He’s having surgery at a Boston hospital.
