3 Arrested As MDEA Raids Suspected Monmouth Meth Lab
Police and drug enforcement agents say they raided a meth lab at a home in Monmouth.Authorities arrested three people, 33-year-old James Renaud, and 28-year-old Robert Dumont, both of Monmouth, and 42-year-old Brandon Proctor of Oxford.Agents say they became aware of criminal activity at the residence on Cressey Road Wednesday.Authorities seized evidence from the home, a vehicle, and a wooded area nearby. The processing had to pause on more than one occasion as volatile compounds began to react or release fumes. Some of that evidence has been taken to Health and Environmental Testing Lab for chemical analysis. Two Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and a Monmouth firefighter were treated on the scene for heat exhaustion, but were cleared to resume their duties.Police had blocked off part of Cressey Road as a safety precaution while they worked the scene.Monmouth Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Department of Environmental Protection are assisting.
