Two Local State Police Members Honored for Service
Two local state police members are being honored for their service.Trooper Trevor Snow of Stetson has been named the Trooper of the Year. Colonel Robert Williams, Chief of the State Police, made the announcement today at the annual State Police awards ceremony.Snow’s been on the force for 17 years, patrolling Penobscot and Piscataquis counties for the majority of his career. Even with all of that time, Colonel Williams says Snow has the enthusiasm of a new trooper and is an outstanding mentor. And retired detective Joseph Zamboni, former of Milo, was named the Legendary Trooper. He served 22 years with State Police and retired in 2004. Zamboni was named Trooper of the Year in 2001 and is best known for his investigation into serial killer James Hicks, who murdered three women.Hicks is serving a life sentence.
