Four local airports will split $603,861 in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration. Members of Maine’s congressional delegation say the money will go toward a variety of projects. The bulk of it will be used at Hancock County – Bar Harbor Airport to expand the terminal building. Dexter Regional, Eastport Municipal and Millinocket Municipal will divide up the rest of the money. It will be used for renovations, snow removal equipment and airport planning. Funding will be distributed as follows:â€¢Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $304,461 to Hancock County.Â This funding will be used to help fund the design of the terminal building expansion project at the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport.â€¢Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $122,400 to the Town of Dexter.Â This funding will be use for the design phase of an apron rehabilitation project at Dexter Regional Airport.â€¢Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $150,000 to the City of Eastport. Â Â This funding will be used to acquire snow removal equipment and a truck with plow, to help keep the airport serviceable during snow periods.â€¢Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $27,000 to the Town of Millinocket.Â This funding will be used to update the existing master plan at the Millinocket Municipal Airport to help identify future airport needs.
