Fire Destroys Barn in Trenton

Fire destroyed a barn in Trenton Saturday night.Crews were called to Oak Point Road a little before 8:30 p.m.When they arrived, authorities say a barn near the home was engulfed in flames.Crews were unable to save that structure, but they did keep the fire from spreading to the home just a few feet away.”There’s a little bit of char on the back of the residence,” says Trenton Deputy Fire Chief Steve Corson. “We did put a crew inside just to make sure nothing extended in there. And we’re happy to say that it did not get into the residence itself.” There is no word yet on a cause. We’re told there were no animals in the barn.Crews from Ellsworth, Hancock and Lamoine also helped battle the flames.Fire fighters cleared the scene about an hour later.
