Rep. Chellie Pingree Raises More Than Republican Rivals in 1st Congressional District

Democratic U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree raised more money for her re-election campaign during the most recent campaign finance period than her Republican rivals for Maine’s 1st Congressional district.The latest figures for the period from April 1 to May 23 come from campaign finance reports filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.Maine Today Media, reports that Pingree’s campaign raised nearly $85,000 during the period.Republicans Jonathan Courtney and Patrick Calder raised nearly $22,000 and just more than $3,000 respectively.Pingree spent more than $48,000 during the period and had $210,158 on hand as of May 23. Courtney had almost $17,000 on hand when the reporting period ended while Calder had more than $2,000.
