A couple of well-known voices to sports fans in this area will no longer be gracing the airwaves. Dale Duff, the Sports Director at AM 620 WZON and his partner, Clem LaBree, have been let go by the radio station. The two were informed yesterday over the phone by Stephen King, the best-selling author and owner of the station, that they no longer had a job. King reportedly told the two it was for financial reasons. Duff is a familiar voice to many. He’s been WZON’s Sports Director for 19 years, and also spent time in television as well. Duff and LaBree were the hosts of the station’s afternoon sports talk show and broadcast many high school sports during the school year.
