Forest Fire Damages 3 Acres Near Danforth

Firefighters are cleaning up after a forest fire in the Danforth area damaged about three acres. They still trying to figure out what started it. The initial call came in about 3 p.m. Sunday for a fire on top of Flagstaff Mountain, east of Danforth.About 20 forest rangers, Danforth firefighters and crews from the Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge battled the flames. A Forest Service helicopter was also called in to drop water on the site.We’re told a test windmill tower was caught in the fire, but the damage was minimal.
